Very conscious we have gained quite a few new followers of our little shop recently so thought it would be nice to introduce to you who we are.
I’m David, the owner of Winston’s. The shop was first opened 2016 with the website launching in 2015, the shop originally just sold brands, nothing of our own. When Covid hit in 2020 I knew we needed to move away from brands and take greater control of what we sell, this is where our own range came from. Since then we have created over 60 designs and products and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredible people in the process.
We are proudly independent and even more proud that we are an actual ‘bricks and mortar’ store, I love the fact that people can come in and physically see and try things on.
The plan for us going forward is to create a full range of clothing, shirts, trousers, shorts, everything, that’s what we really aim for and I’m sure we can get there.
I often say ‘we’ or ‘us’ at Winston’s because it’s not just me, I have incredible staff who work here, they all know way more about retail than I do!
And to answer the question where the name ‘Winston’s’ comes from. It’s not just a random name, but actually what my wife and I called our first baby before he was born, he became Seb in the end but maybe we’ll get a shop dog one day and call him Winston.
