Lockdown Retail

Before we start, I hope everyone is safe and looking after themselves and their loved ones. The bigger picture is my little shop doesn’t really matter. There are far more important things happening in the world that little indies like mine pales into insignificance. That said, I love my shop and am very proud of what we have achieved and truly hope we can continue in the future.

Since we closed the actual shop back in March we have spent all our time developing our website. Ironically when we first opened I didn’t actually want a website, I wanted people to visit us and see our shop, try the clothes on and get a traditional retail experience. Things have changed somewhat. The development of the website has brought a brand new dimension to our business. We can now serve customers all over the world, get orders when the shop is closed and engage in customers in a whole new way.
Honestly, I miss the shop being open, but the current climate has dictated to us that it had to close and may stay so for some time. However, having the new challenge of running the website has been really exciting, sometimes doing things out of your comfort zone is exactly what you need.
The best thing that has come out of all this is the fact we have had to push forward with our new range. Since we opened we have been reliant on other brands to carry the shop, that’s not the case anymore. We have gone from one design of T-Shirt to almost twenty, plus other pieces like shirts, sweatshirts and accessories. We started our women’s range and the kids range is going to be growing also, we can’t wait for this!
So as it stands we will continue to improve the website, design new ranges and establish ourselves as a complete clothing brand. We hope you have enjoyed what we have been doing so far and continue to support us going forward.

We hope you are all keeping safe and are managing to make the most of a truly difficult and challenging time. To all the small businesses out there, stick at it and get yourself ready for the future, if you can get through this you can get through anything.

Stay safe

David @Winstons
